An iconic fixed-blade knife from PUMA and it is in very high demand by collectors. PUMA over the years enlisted the help of people who had major influence in the sporting industry including hunting and fishing.   These people had important roles in the design of many legendary knives made by PUMA.  They often attached their name and title to these knives. Names like Frevert, Tassius and Fisseler are some of these people.  Hunting with dogs is extremely popular sport in Europe.  The breeding and training of hunting dogs is big business and taken seriously.  Swiss Hound Association leader, Fisseler was instrumental in the design of the NIMROD and his name and title appear on the blade of this knife.

The NIMROD is one of the four hunting sidearms madeby PUMA.   Produced in about 1982 It is the fourth and last of the big blades designs. The Waidblatt, HIrshfänager ( Cutlass ), Rüdemann and the NIMROD are  part of this classification of knives and are considered to be some of the finest designs ever produced. These designs made PUMA an International name in the hunting industry.
