Hello, my name is Ken Tarpey and I have been a active PUMA collector off and on for almost 25 years. My first knife was a “White Hunter” and I was 15 at the time. That was 48 years ago. I still have that knife…. and a few more!
Now retired from an active business life, I am having a terrific time collecting the rarities that are still out there to be found. I still get a big thrill from “the hunt” and finding what I have been searching a long time for.
The other reason I collect is to talk and visit with the fine people I have met and the friendships I have made from my collecting activities. Collecting has opened new horizons for me.

We hope that each time you visit that you will learn something that you did not know before. This website could not be possible without the invaluable help from the following people. These people have contributed their time and knowledge so that others can learn about the rich and exciting history of PUMA and their wonderful knives . It is deeply appreciated by me and by those who have learned from their knowledge base.

This photo was taken at a recent meeting of collector friends at PUMA in Solingen, Germany. From Left to Right. Reinhold Rueckert, Harald Lauer, Managing Director of PUMA mow retired, Ken Tarpey ( myself). On the right is Ralf, better known as the PumaHunter. We had a great time with good friends that day including a informative tour of all the departments at PUMA. It was fantastic to see these craftsmen at work making these special knives and I now have a deep appreciation for their skills.
