The word “Treiberwehr” is found in the old German language. It is a word that describes a type of hunting still in use today. The English translation of Treiberwehr is ” A Group of Drivers” and is a common form of hunting in Europe. This style of hunting requires a group of people to drive game to waiting hunters by pushing them in a certain direction.
The Treiberwehr is one of the rarest PUMA knives on the planet. It rarely, if ever, comes up for sale. It is considered by many collectors to be the most desired in a collection due to its rarity. It was distributed only in Europe with production possibly lasting for only one quarter. It is a White Hunter design which was given it’s own model number. The only Control number that we are aware of has the code 14671, making it made in the first quarter of 1976.
It is believed that this knife was made by PUMA at the request of a very influential individual, possibly a member of a renowned German hunting organization and the production numbers were very low.
